How does Tweetdeck work?
It allows you to view all of your Twitter feeds on one page in columns and updates with tweets in real time. You can choose which columns to have on your Tweetdeck account from:
· your Twitter timelines (if you have more than one account),
· any lists you have created,
· your direct messages,
· your mentions,
· your followers,
· your tweets,
· any tweets you have favourited,
· trends you want to monitor,
· activities of your followers,
· when you have been tagged in a tweet,
· any scheduled tweets.
To edit a column, use the drop down arrow on the top right of the column. Here you can edit content, users and alerts.
Content: by clicking on the drop down arrow next to content, you can select which tweets you see (tweets with images, videos, media and links), what words are included and excluded and whether retweets are included.
What else can you do on Tweetdeck?
You can search, just as you would on Twitter, by selecting the magnifying glass symbol on the top of the left toolbar. You can even add this search as a column on your deck, so that the latest tweets on that search will appear as when they happen. You can also edit the search by content and users, shown above with the columns.
To schedule the tweet, select the clock symbol at the bottom of the box and choose the date and time that you want it to be posted.
Do you think you will find Tweetdeck useful? Have a go and let us know how you got on...
